What next -- after RCR mod?
#1
I was just wanting to know what everybody's opinions were as to what one should do next, performance wise, after adding the RCR kit. Is there anything I can do to the clutch to make a really noticible difference compared to the money it will cost. I hear about changing helixes but at $70, i don't figure they will make that much difference. What about changing weights? Springs? If anyone with a 400 sc/sport has changed things for the better I would really like some input.
Also-- I was wondering if the v-force reeds are worth the money.

Rick should've included the appropiate spring with his kit for your 400. Your next logical move should be with the carb, either have Rick bore the stocker to 35.5 and install a UFO, or move up to the 38TMX combined with new reeds and a K&N.
As far as the clutch you should be fine for now, if anything get Aaen's roller kit, but that should'nt be needed at this point.
Don't over look handling, and how much of a difference new bars and tires wil make the ATV "feel" faster.

I got the RCR Polaris special for x-mas and I love
it! I ordered the lowend pipe about two weeks
before Dec. 25th, 1999 and it came about 5 days
before the big day. Rick called me to say he was
sending one of his last lowend pipes that wasn't
very nice looking so he included a purple secondary spring for free!
Needless to say I was delighted, I didn't see anything wrong with the pipe, Rick must be a
perfectionist if he cares what they look like.
I don't look at my Scrambler when I ride, and
even if I did I wouldn't see the pipe through all the mud anyway! If you want something to try
next get the purple secondary spring and put
it in the 2nd and 3rd holes, tight as possible.
I will be getting the 38mm carb and new reeds
with the Wiseco piston next. I think I'll go
a step at a time though. The difference with
just the Polaris special is like night and day.
I almost missed my 350X (which was stolen) till
I bolted on my new pipe. Now I feel like I'm
riding a 4 wheel drive 400X!
