Scrambler 90 roosts on a Sportsman 500
#1
I took my kids out for a ride today on their Scrambler 90 in the river bottoms. We went up a tributary and my youngest got to ride the 90 on the way back. He was taking the lead when he came up to a gradual bank about 2 feet high. I told him to get a run at it and keep his momentum up. As soon as he got to the hill he bounced off a log that was partially submerged and stopped. By this time I had caught up to him in time to catch a mouth full of sand as he pegged the throttle. There was not one square inch on the front of my SP that was not covered with an inch of sand. Talk about good humor. We were all laughing histerically.

When I referred to the river bottoms, I meant the Minesota River basin. Now that the river is so low, there are literally thousands of sand bars and many areas that you could walk across. As far as legal areas. The area where we went has a minimum maintenance road leading back to it. Not sure if the property lines fluctuate with the water levels. I had asked a Conservation officer and he wasn't even sure.

There are a few that run this particular area. There are more down by Mankato. A friend of mine is starting a club down by St. Peter and we'll be trying to get some trails established through the river bottoms between the St.Peter, Kasota, and Mankato areas. I may be starting another club in the Le Sueur area next fall. There are trails for the local Horse clubs and I have considered a partnership with one of those.
