I am tired of not seeing any aftermarket parts availible for my Trailboss or a lot of parts for any Polaris. I found three companies that make an exhaust for it. Only thing is two of them are modified 500scrambler exhausts. Okay the 250ex hasn't been out near as long as the new 325 Trailboss but yet they already have exhaust kits and other ad ons for the 250ex. Tell me the aftermarket does'nt favor the Hondas and Yamahas.

I also have a 01 220 Bayou that I purchased for my wife. She has riden quads a lot longer than I have, but her 2nd time out on the Bayou it threw her off and ran right over her breaking 2 ribs and give her a lot of bruises. Now I am stuck with two quads and niether is what I want, because she will not even set on one let a lone ride one. I have went to four different dealers to see if I could trade up to a bigger sport quad and this is what I got.

1st. $1850 for TBoss or $2200 for Bayou (for a 300ex $4799)
2nd. $2500 for Bayou and they would not take TBoss on trade (for a Warrior $4700)
3rd. $1900 for TBoss or $2250 for Bayou (for a Mojave $4100)
4th. $2000 for TBoss or $2400 for Bayou (for a 400 Scrambler $4700)

Both quads are in great shape, heck the Bayou don't have 10hrs on it and still has the color on the tread of the tires. The TBoss has about $450 of ad-ons and work done to it. In a year at this rate I'll be able to trade my Polaris to the little kid down the block for his POWER WHEELS JEEP! This makes me not even want to ride the dumb quads I have.

2000 Polaris 325 Trailboss
~DG alloy bumper (for a 400 scrambler)
~Diamond plate aluminum skid plates
~K&N jet kit with filter.
~RCR green spring & air box modification
~MSR Dominator Handle bars
~Polaris black shock covers
~removed the rack
~removed front & rear mud flaps

2001 Kawasaki 220 Bayou(wife’s)
~O’Neal handle bars with Scott grips

I want a faster, lighter sport quad that you can actually buy some parts for! YEA!

Have you considered the 414 kit? I guess I lucked out. I just traded one of my 2000 TB325s for a 2001 Scrambler 400 2x4. They gave me 2200.00 for the TB AND added the tax from the Scrambler on to the trade. So I really got about 2400.00 for the TB. The price on the Scrambler was 4999.00, but I talked him down to 4499.00 due to it being a year old (not used, just leftover). Good luck with whatever you decide...

Of course there are more parts for a 250ex than a t-boss. It's a sport quad, while the t-boss is an entry level trail/utility. If you want a sport quad with after market parts available, buy a sport quad.

Check NADA values on your quads. You're probably better off selling them out right than trading them in. Dealers are there to make their best deal, not your best deal. Good luck.

I know what you are going through. I am trying to get out of the off road scene (never thought I would) and sell all I have for other interests. Prior to the other interests though I was going to get another quad, and found the trade in's value of my 2000 scram 400 was $2500 at one place and $3000 at another. I am trying to sell it for around 4000 with goodies (fair I think or at least thought)and in great shape, no one even calls, except for the brave few who want me to just give it to them and take them out to dinner while Im at it. maybe I can wash thier truck also when they come out to get it and throw in a 45 year bumper to bumper waranty. Im not sure why its so hard to sell this quad, besides the $4000 being a descent chunk of change.

I dont blame your wife one bit for not wanting to ride any more, and hope she recovers fully. Its a bit of a reality check to get busted up like that and realize you were lucky at the same time. hope you get a fair price for your stuff and you can move on to where you want to be. its quite frustrating. gj

I know the 250ex is a sport quad and that there is a difference between the two. It just seems that the TrailBoss would have more aftermarket stuff out there since it was released earlier. I found more parts out there for my 220 Bayou than my TrailBoss. There is multiple companies that make exhaust kits for utility quads. I found kits from the major companies for the Recons, Beartrackers, Bayou 220s, just none of them for the TrailBoss.

I know the 414 big bore kit from RCR for the TrailBoss is $425. Including the teardown of the motor and installation of the new piston & sleeve, What would be the total? How reliable would it be? Would the power gain be worth the the money spent?

I just found a used (2 month old) 01 Blaster for $2500 at another dealer. They said that they would give me $2500 for the Bayou. I might do it. Blasters don't run that bad for a little sport quad. At least it is faster & lighter than my TBoss.
