4X4 AND REV LIMITER
#1
I HAVE A QUESTION FOR ALL YOU POLARIS GURUS OUT THERE.
WHY DID POLARIS CONNECT THE REV LIMITER AND THE 4X4 IN REVERSE TOGETHER? I THINK THE REV LIMITER IS A GOOD IDEA FOR SOMEONE NEW TO ATVS, BUT WHY THE 4X4?
I AM GOING TO TRY TO DISCONNECT MINE. I HAVE PLOW ON MY 300 XPLOER, WITH A MANUAL LIFT SOMETIMES IT'S HARD TO LIFT THE PLOW AND PUSH THE BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME. THANKS!!!

I have seen on the forums that this would involve clipping some wires. In my opinon I just would not be able to do this. When I pay $7000 dollars for a machine I just can't bring myself to clip wires.Good luck though and I hope everything works out for you.I do realize it is a pain to have to always push the over button. Some people have mentioned using ties to keep the button pushed in and when you don't want them you can move them out of the way.POLARIS RULES!!!!!!!!!

It's the same switch. When in reverse, the rev limiter is in effect and the 4x4 doesn't engage unless your pressing the over-ride button. On my 98 6x6 I was able to unplug a wire in the harness and use a "loopback" jumper in that harness. Now I have full power in reverse and AWD whenever I'm in reverse without use of the button. However, for safety reasons intended I didn't make this mod on my 400 Scrambler.
