Does anyone know HP rating on 2000 Sportsman 500? Thanks

 

I "believe" I read that it was 32-34 hp, At least that was what I read last year[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

i think around 32 or 33, and the 2001 ho is around 38 or so, i think

 

The 00 Sportsman engine makes 32hp,however,because it is belt driven,it has been said that only around 20hp make it to the wheels.Some of this can be overcome with exstensive clutching.

What most people don't know is that the dynos are fooled by the variable rate reansmissions in most automatics. Ask any snowmmobile owner. The dynos are set up for mostly gear driven machines and don't take into account for belt slippage and changing ratios.
