Anybody here have one of these pipes? FMF makes good stuff, but, do they work well with our Polaris'? I know that HPD makes a killer pipe, but does anyone know about the FMF? Its pretty inexpensive in the Dennis Kirk catalog. It would be for my 2000 400 Scrambler.
Thanks..

A good friend of mine bought one about a year ago and in my opinion it is better suited as a door stop, After getting the bike jetted it actually slowed it down, His is a 4x4 and mine a 2x4, Both stock we were dead even, With his FMF set-up I consistantly beat him by 2-3 lenghts, After I went with the HPD mods It grew to about 7 lenghts, After some clutching his bike did gain a little of his top end back but ultimatley he ebayed the pipe and went with HPD, FMF makes some nice Dirt Bike pipes in my opinion but both Polaris pipes I have tried or helped set-up the Burly And the Gnarly I would say save your money, Other than looking nice and sounding decent the advantage's end there.

I have a FMF pipe, chrome, looks really nice, until you notice the two seams where it tore wide open. That's even with HPD's hard motor mounts. Nail on the head....door-stop! I have a Aaen top-end pipe. Lights o.k.. Only used a week....make me an offer. I have a HPD race (new design) on the quad. It works on the quad. It lights super fast on the quad. It pulls super hard on the quad. It stays in one (acually two) piece on the quad. Do I sound like a broken record yet. Buy it you'll love it. In all fairness, the FMF turbine core silencer I run is free-flowing and light. I'm going to be changing that out for one of HPD's new quieter silencers. Those Silver Lake noise regs.

I too disliked the FMF. FMF also hasn't a clue as to what R.P.M. the bike should be clutched to. One of the FMF techs told me that they directly copied HPD's old pipe. ...and they still goofed!

don't buy any fmf mods for polaris quads,i known they're good for yamaha,honda...but they don't known about polaris engine, probably you'll get a better sound but not the right rpm range and power,GO HPD!

i dont know what you are all smoking but it works just fine on my scram, it looks and sounds good and has great power. i have had a 10 mile an hour increase and the power is right there in the dunes. way better than stock.(also cheaper than a comparable hpd, aaen, hotseat, etc. pipe/silencer nickel kit)

Sporty 400, the pipe is up for offers. I'll ship it to you for $150. When I say barely used. I needed a pipe on the 4th of July, and HPD wasn't open. Darrell (HPD) will vouch for the time it took for him to make me one of his screaming new pipes, is as long as it was on. The silencer isn't for sale. I do have a hand polished Hot Seat Billet silencer I'll ship to you for $75.

Bill, the only thing we are smoking is the competition. If you haven't tried the HPD pipe you just don't know what you're missing. The only pipe I haven't tried is the PSI unit. This HPD pipe is the best....Just ask anyone who has one. I'll line up and pull away from anyone anytime with any other pipe. PERIOD. The pipe will do the talking.

Awesome feedback! I will absolutely, without a doubt, buy an HPD piece. Thanks for the help. Polaris owners rule!
