Alright, I'm still having trouble with the four wheel drive on my Xplorer. The right tire won't engage. Here's the scenario: I've checked for power-got power, changed armature plate and roll cage, cleaned everything up-immaculately I might add, torqued it to spec-100 in-lbs, put in auto tranny fluid, and still nothing. Anyone got any ideas?

I am by no means an expert at the 4X4 system but just a thought. Did your bearings look good and roll freely?

Yeah, everything looked good that's the thing. I can't figure it out, its driving me crazy, I don't want to take it to the shop but its starting to look like that's my only option.

I didn't use an ohm meter. I used a test light, the light lit up, so it has power going to it.

Checking your coil with an ohmmeter is a worthwhile exercise. Secondly and most importantly have you checked the clearance between the inner and outer pole rings. It must be between 0.001 and 0.002 inches. If you like I can send a couple of pages from my manual.

Could you do that? I don't have a manual, so that would help alot. Send it to my work email, its a better mail service. The address is UtterD@wpsc.com, Thanx.
