What is everbody using, just bought a 2001 500 4x4 and want to put paddles on it.I was thinking the Scat-Trak 22x10x10 8 paddle v pattern.
Would going to a 20" tall tire mess up gearing when 4x4 mode?

if I was you I would get 4 scat trac haulers. yes if you changs the rear tire size and keep the front stock it will mess with the gearing.

I don't know if changing the type of tires will mess with 4x4 system, but I do know that changing the size of tires will mess with it. A friend of mine put slightly smaller tires on his scrambler and he had some problems with his system engaging or not engaging when needed or not needed. This problem was easily fixed by getting the same ratio between the front and rear tires that the machine had when it came from the factory. So what I am trying to say is that you shouldn't have any problems with putting different size tires on as long as you keep the ratio between the front and rear tires the same. This is b/c the 4x4 system uses this ratio to determine if the rear wheels are slipping, thus telling the machine when to or not to engage the front wheels. Good luck.

I would love to put 4 paddles on it but I think it would be a little much to handle for my wife.I ordered STU sand skate II's which are a 20" tall tire size but are closer to 21" when inflated,I also ordered 22" razors for the front.Stock is 22" rear & 23" front I think this should do the trick....by keeping both aftermarket tires 1" shorter then stock...I hope
