No problems with my 700 yet with close to 200 miles/ 30 hrs. Goes great in the mud as long as you keep the radiator clear. Very comfortable ride on the whoops and very good brakes. It is heavy though and you can feel that on the tight turns and severe off-camber spots but other than that so far so good. If you are looking for more "sport" than "utility" then give the Grizz 660 a close look too.

Gotta love you Americans... Just got off the phone from my polaris dealer and bought myself a Sportmans 700. $9400.00 canadian ( that's $5922.00 US dollars).. Are you folks buying them that cheap in your country or is this just a gift? I can buy a 660 grizzly for about $5700.00 US .
Can't wait to check it out. My last ATV was a polaris 350L 4X4 that I worked pretty hard and sold it with over 10 thousand miles on it with just a 4X4 transfer bearing replacement ( I blew the seal by greasing it too much) and 1 belt.

luv4ironman,
That is one SCREAMIN' deal! I got my SP700 in September and paid $7199.00. My friend got his from the second production run in November and paid $6999.00. This is as cheap as I have seen them here in our area. You should buy all you can get your hands on for $5922.00.

I am not calling anyone a liar, but $5900 for a Sportsman 700 does not sound right at all. It sounds way too good to be true(Impossable). Why would they be cheaper in Canada? Am I missing something??? If I am missing out on something, can someone take it easy on me and explain? Magnum 500's are going for $6000 at South East Polaris up here in Cleveland. Unbelievable, I'm sorry.

Check it out .. The two dealers I use are www.powersportsmarine.com and www.dtpowersports.com The american dollar has been kicking the canadian loonie pretty bad lately. At $1.60 canadian per US dollar, do the math. Nothing like going into my neighbourhood chevy dealer and buying a fully loaded 2500 HD 4X4 leather, duramax, etc for the equivalent of $32,500 US.... Don't believe me? Call a dealer. A buddy of mine , all he does is export Cadillac Escapades to the US . Cost him about $1500 to retro speedos to MPH etc and make a tidy $10 G's canadian per unit for his trouble.
Getting back to ATV's . Keep in mind that Polaris and the Honda 450 foreman can go back to the US duty free under NAFTA. The only way the US dealers are protected is that they will not do warranty on anything imported. I sold sleds in the late 80's and early 90's when it was cheaper for Canadians to go to Michigan or New York to buy them and polaris would not warranty these units. For the difference in coin, if I was an American living in a border town I think I'd be tempted to buy from Canadian dealers and screw the warranty.

Glad to hear that! I just tell it like it is, I like my SP700, but I have no dilusions that it is the holy grail of 4x4 ATV's (nor do I believe that the Grizz or the Kawi is either...). Having ridden my buddies '02 Grizz I can say that it "feels" sportier than the SP700, it seems to launch harder from a stand-still and is more nimble on the tight trails BUT I do feel that the SP700 brakes are MUCH better (no mushy feel like my buds Grizz) and it is a whole lot more comfy to ride. In most situations it seems more stable to me to (probably due to the weight). I haven't gotten to ride the 650 Kawi yet but given that it has a solid rear axle I am going to assume that it is even more "sporty" than the Grizz even. I wanted a "utility" quad more than anything else, and the Sp700 certainly fills that requirement (probably more so than the Grizz or the Kawi). If you are really wanting something "sporty" that just happens to have 4x4 as well than perhaps the Kawi is your best choice and the Grizz is for those wanting something in between the two extremes. They are all nice machines- it's just too bad that SOOOOOOOO many here have to bicker back and forth about it!
Oh, and no I haven't joind a ATV club yet BUT I did send away for the application to MIATV assoc. It hasn't come in the mail yet.
Also, for those comapring prices. I paid $6999US +6%MI Tax. That deal in Canada (if true) if GREAT!!!
