I am thinking about putting a K&N Air Filter on my 2001 Sportsman. Is re-jetting required? I have had K&N's on my Street bikes and re-jetted those but they also had a pipes (Kerker, Supertrap) on the bikes.

I want the stock replacement filter with dust sock if it makes a differance in types of filter and will not be modifing anything else. I am doing this because I am changing my airfilter for the first time and plan on keeping this machine for a couple of years. If I can pick up performance and save in the long run on filter changes now is the time to do it.

2001 Stock Ho (with new motor)
26" 589's (M/T's) on chrome ITP's
Polaris double tube bumpers, hand guards, rear tool box and 16"winshield.

Now go easy on me but, what is the stock jet(s) size and what have people gone to with this mod. Keep in mind I am a trail rider not a racer but who can't use a little more snap!
