whats the best atv for me?

i own a 00 325 magnum. it's real good for towing, in the mud and climbing hills but it's just not fast enough. looking at 4 different 4wheelers and don't know which is the best for me. 1)scrambler 500 2)sportsman 500 3)xplorer 400 4)wolverine. now, i do some pretty hard riding and my magnum never gets stuck, it's all ways dependable but my riding partners has a 99 xplorer 400 and can leave me behind no problem. the thing is his machine has mechanical problems from time to time. maybe it's that 2 stroke, i don't know. i would go out and get the xplorer but from first hand experience they have problems. i've towed him back to the truck a couple times. not too crazy about a chain driven 2 stroke but won't count it out. looked at the 500 scrambler and sportmans and they also have things i'm not sure about. to be honest i want a scrambler but am afraid that it want have the towing abilities that my magnum has. granted that i have a 325 and am looking at the 500 scrambler maybe more cc's will make up that difference? sure wish that scrambler had a low gear and a green color sceme. do they make a camo cover for the scrambler? i do alittle hunting so green is a must for my atv. the sportsman 500 seems to be the best all around atv out there. only 2 problems with this one. first, it's the most expensive. don't have too much of a problem going the extra cash but this brings me to my second problem with the sp 500. if i'm going to spend that much for a 500, it damned well better be faster than a 400. i don't think it'll out run an xplorer 400 but will it at least keep up with it? my fourth choice is the wolverine. heard lots of good things about this machine. seems to be a good mix of utility/sports atv. don't like the constant 4wheel drive but if it can run with an xplorer that doesn't bother me. it's the cheapiest of the four i mentioned but doesn't have an auto tranny, but that's a good thing for down hill decent. i am confussed. can someone point me in the right direction?

The Xplorer 400 would be anexcellent choice! IT runs very fast and is easy and inexpensive to add performance mods which make it run like a bat out of hell!

hiterene,
Help me out here. You imply that having an auto tranny is bad for descents. Why do you say this? My Sportsman with EBS is every bit as good on descents as the manual Honda 350 4-Trax we use. Maybe I have missed something here, help me out.
Sounds like you want the perfect quad. Unfortunately there is no such beast! An excellent utility quad won't be the fastest. The fastest machine will likely be a lousy utility quad. Also, every brand has its good points and bad points - every brand. You have to decide what is best for you. If you find the ultimate machine, let us know!
We are having fun with these things and that is the key to it all!

I have a 500 scrambler no trouble with it so far. Ive had it a year and i have done some towing with it. Even tho it does not have low gear the engine has a lot of torque. Top speed around 65 plenty fast to run with must quads. with this quad you get the best of both worlds 4x4 and a good sport machine.

like i mention before i already own a magnum and the down hill decent is just fine with the auto tranny on my 4wheeler. i know we all just have fun on these things. the reason for this post was to get opinions on the 4wheelers i mentioned. leaning toward the 500 scrambler. just wished i could get a camo cover for the thing or retro fit a existing camo cover for another model, if thats possible.

I think you should go wither with the Xplorer 400 or the Wolverine 350, the Wolv has the same top enf as the worrior, It mostly depends on the type of tranny you want. I personally would go with the Xplorer, its faster in all aspects, (im pretty sure please dont kill me if im rong) Also the Xplorer has a low gear for towing or anything that woudl result in a lot of power needed, and the Wolv only has 5 gears.
Go with the Xplorer...you already ahve a polaris go for another, also you will be happy with the tranny considering you are happy with your magnum,
as for the scrambler its a great machine, but why wouldnt you get the Xplorer, the Scrambler 400 uses the same engine, adn the 400 is almost exactly as fast as the 500, its auctually a bit faster.
It it were me i would go with the XPlorer 400!
