Can anyone tell me where the drain plug and fill hole is for the rear gearcase is on a "00 Sp500. I have found the front gearcase plug & fill hole but can't find the rear one. I know where the transmision dipstick(yellow handle)is and can see it's drainplug, but i have looked all over the rear for the rear gearcase's plug, etc.Am i just missing something or a complete idiot? Polaris should give out model specific owner's manuals when you purchase an ATV. There universal ATV manuals don't have the greatest illustrations(my opinion). Also, is the Polaris angle drive fluid the same as the GL5 80-90 W gear lube it says to use in the front/rear gearcases? Thanks.

The dipstick/drain you found is the only one. It covers the whole transmission as far as I know. You need 20oz of "Polaris Premium Synthetic Gearcase Lubricant" PN. 2871477(gallon)or PN. 2871478(12oz). The front gearcase uses 4oz of "Polaris Front Gearcase Lube" PN. 2871653(12oz) or API GL5 80-90 Gearlube. If you are near a dealer I would take a look at the bottles to determine if its the same stuff front and rear.
Good luck
