First of all I have a new edition to my toy family a '99 Sport 400. Good price and it was showroom condition so I adopted it.

Anyone on here play with nitrous on single cylinder 2 strokes. I want to build my Sport for trail riding and still be able to be competitive in drags. A friend of mine had NOS on his '99 Mach Z triple 800 with no problems what so ever for 2 years. It was sweet for the simple reason the sled was still trailable and kicked a lot of @$$ in the grass or ice drags. I was wondering what horse nozzles this motor can take. The Mach Z took 3 20 horse nozzles with no reliability problems.

My recipe will be as follows:
HPD trail pipe
mild porting
I will be running 2 fuel tanks (1=93oct, 1=108oct for the NOS)
it will be pre-mix (no injection)
not 100% on what carb

uflg95,

How is it going? I don't see you around here very much anymore. Congrats on the new adoption. I don't have a clue where to start for the NOS. I have wondered about this and even a turbo but I am forced to live in the real world with five kids and a wife.

Just thought I'd say hello. Good luck with this project. I'm sure once you get it dialed in right, it will be a very impressive machine. I'm sure you are aware of this but, beware, that NOS is capable of more than your wallet until it is dialed in just right. Just be sure to do your homework and do alot of intense thinking before you flick that switch the first time.

By the way, do you guys have any 02'SC400X's? I was going to give you guys a call today but I ran out of time.

Go to the Bad Boy Polaris forum.

Dennis Shotwell has been running it on his sport for either 2 or 3 years now. He knows quite a bit about it.

Elroy,
We do not have any X's at this time. Everything is going well. How are things over your way? I shouldn't have a very big problem with the NOS tuning. A friend of mine has NOS in his veins. He has had it on several of his own cars and has built several cars with it on. You're from Titusville, are you familiar with the gentleman who has the Corvettes (2 mid 70's Stingray and ZR-1). The one Vette has NOS on it. It is red and has side pipes. You would know if you have seen it it does high 10's in the quarter. Anyway my friend wrenches and tunes those cars.

67bullet and QuadBuster,
Thanks a lot for your replys. I will have to ask Dennis what nozzle he uses and where the HP breaking point is. I figure I will be safe at 20hp. I am not worried about installation and hook up, I am just worried how much I can throw through it.

What is the address to Bad Boy Polaris forum? I've been there once but I can't seem to find it now.
