Does anyone else have trouble stripping the hubs out.I have had this happen twice in a year one on both sides. The first time i had a wore out set of super swampers. This time i had on some new Gators.Do any of you think the agresive tires could have caused this?I had check the tightness of the nuts about a month ago.Guess it is better to strip the hub and not the axle.

Most of the guys that I ride with that have a straight axle Polaris with big tires have at some time spun a hub or two. My opinion is that yes the mud tires do contribute to the problem, but I can't say that the same thing wouldn't happen with stock tires. (Just about everyone I know has mud tires.) Atleast it's a pretty quick and easy fix. Alot of the guys I know used to keep spare hubs (and axles) in their truck so they could fix it without having to go home. These guys tend to break a lot of axles too, even the Durablu's!

I havent broke an axle yet but this 400 sportsman has stripped 2 huds in a year and my 425 magnum has nt stripped one yet.Guess i should keep a hub in the truck with my spare belt and tire plugs.

There's three of us running polaris in GNCC and we all strip out hubs at least two a year. Jumping doesn't help. One tip we got was to smear some silicon sealer on the splines before assembly. The hubs don't corrode so they are easier to remove. The hardened silicon seems to cushion the splines and keeps them from stripping as fast. It might help. Good luck.
