I just bought a 2000 TB and I have to admit it isn't that bad, though I did buy it for the wife it is a GOOD machine for HER. Gas and go baby!!! I'm paying $2000 for this next week. Has a rock guard, rear rack w/ polaris bag, speedo, hitch, cover and been WELL maintained 560 miles. The way I see it also, if you need more power RCR Stage 1 kit is the way to go !!!! Great job Rick.

For the money i would have to say pick up a 99 or newer Sport/Scrambler 2x4. Yes you can mod the trailblazer to be as fast as the 400, but you can mod the 400 even futher.

We had a TB for my fiance'. It is a great quad. Reliable, easy to ride, a nice 2nd quad. BUT.... you outgrow it very fast. If you are sure you just want to putt, putt then it is OK, but even with an RCR kit it was still slow. We took it to Silver Lake Dunes before. Even with the RCR kit it was always opened up just to make it up regular sized hills.

If speed is no concern & won't be in the future the TB is a great quad. Other than the lack of power it's a good deal.

Get it. Believe it or not, some people don't like alot of power. My wife loves riding our trailboss or trailblazer, but she is uncomfortable on my Scrambler because of the power. I on the other and wanted more power so I put an HPD pipe and clutch and rejetted the carb on the Scrambler. Still wasn't enough for me so I bought a Cannondale

The trailblazer is a great Bike but its not just SPEED you will loose.
The suspension upgrade alone is something to think about.
The 2000 and Up Scrambler has a much better ride than the trailblazer due to more supension travel and rear fox shock. It is very noticable on trailrides.
I don't know how much he realy wants the freedom series but, I wouldn't want form over function. You are talking $3400 for the trailblazer (+ tax title and shipping). I know my dealer had new Scrambler 400 4x2 for $3999 + tax, title and shipping). Maybe they have gone up. I do not know, but if I am correct, the $600 upgrade is worth every penny.

If you dealer will let you,(I know mine does not) see if there is anyway they would let you compare the two machines. (Some dealer have a small area to try things in the back of the store.) Just a suggestion. I feel so strongly upgrading to the better bike because I myself and other friends of mine made the same mistake of buying a trailblazer and just not being happy with it in the end. Yes there are upgrade available but, I still do not think it will compare after upgrades. Compare Prices between the trailblazer and the 400 scrambler. I know the 500 is like and extra $1500 becuase I seen one at the Dealer yesterday (4999.00+ etc etc). I Know the 400 is less. CALL AROUND.

polaris website msrp, trailblazer, $3,399 : 400 scram, $4,999: 500 scram , $5,499. a little more than $600. Look around I'm sure there are plenty in the ohio area (used), you can save about $1500 if your buy used - almost half off, but you wont get the freedom plastic. How about buying an extra set of plastic/seat from the dealer ???

But if you could ?? get the 400 scram for $600 more dont even hesitate, buy the 400 scram

If polaris sold the 400 for only $600 more than the trailblazer, they wouldn't sell any trailblazers. I agree if you can get it for $600 more, do it, but I don't think that will happen.
