Dirt Wheels Magazine

I just picked up the Dirt Wheels and was very disappointed once again. Yamaha comes out with a special edition Raptor and it gets front page.It really looks fast sitting there but what about the Freedom Series. On every sale they send money to the 911 fund and get no coverage at all. Will the Richard Petty edition get coverage? Probably not! Can you imagine what will happen if Honda ever comes out with a special edition model. They will have to change the name to Honda Wheels. After all Honda has a high tech push rod engine and Polaris has a low tech. A push rod is a push rod it works on the same principal. Maybe I am harping a little to much but Richard Petty has done more for this country than Honda ever has. Richard never bombed Pearl Harbor. If you walk in Dirt Wheels office the first sign you probably see is Ride Red. This is one reason I do not have a subscription to Honda Wheels.

Thats a good comment. I'm a canadian but still think what polaris is doing with the freedom series and Richard Petty special addition is so neat. There is no company out there that I can remeber that has done anything like there doing. Every month I buy Dirtwheels but I am still sick and tired of the crap honda stuff that it's filled with. I don't mind Honda, and yes I think they a pretty good machines but they forget how boring it is to see the same honda ex pictures over and over again. I'm getting kind of sick of the raptor also. I like all quads but why not get a real mix up so there readers have more to do than read about 400ex handlebars for example. Anyway, that raptor doesn't even look that much better than the stock one. If you were to talk about the biggest drastic change in looks for an atv I wold say the blue scrambler or sportsman X would have to take the cake. They look awesome compared to the stock versions. Anyway, honda and raptor guys don't take any of this to offence, I'm just a crazy ATV guy that likes everything about the sport.

I have kinda just looked over it till here lately. How many articles can be done on a 400ex,Banshee, Raptor or whatever else. I am not putting anybody down it is just that they test the same models every year and most do not change. They ought to do more on riding areas instead of doing repeat test.

New Polaris Sport Quad is 500cc Liquid-Cooled 4-stroke. wit 5 speed manual-clutch trany.
Any thoughts? SOund pretty cool.
I have the 2001 Scrambler ( technically it's my wifes) That thing is bullet proff. I have a picture of me and 2 friend jumping, me on hte paolris, one of them on a 250R and the other on a banshee. I got the highest and the longest jump.
Not bad for a polaris.

If and when Polaris comes out with a high performance machine, they'll be lucky to get into the magazine at all. Those "guys" (and I use the term loosely) on the left coast, have never had a thing nice to say about ANY American made machine.
