Hey guys,

I am new to the board, but it looks like a great place. Me and the wife are soon going to pick up a couple of 2002 Scramblers 500 4x4. My question is how do they behave going down hill?? With the automatic transmision, do they just pick up speed when there is no power applied?? Many thanks for any information.

They will free wheel, so on small hills they won't be bad but on long or steep hills you will use your brakes. You can put the EBS system on the Scram if you have any concerns. If the atv's are brand new, the dealer should be able to take your stock clutching and exchange it for the EBS costing about $200 each.

I thought the same thing was going to happen when I went to the PVT from a 4 trax 250x. Actually I find on hills that I hardly use the brakes going down hill, unless it's very technical. Once you let up on the throttle, they slow down pretty quick.
