just wondering if any one know how many links are in a stock SC500 chain?
need a new one and this info is key!

 

I believe it is 84.

 

I know my 400 scrambler has 76 links

 

The number of links is 76. I replaced my 01 SC 500 4x4 with a DID X-ring ATV and love it. I would recommend that you get the chain cut for you, and procure a chain press to install the master link. When I did mine, I ordered an 86 or something like that from rocky. I broke my chain breaker tool, and had to use my dremel.

thanks rainman...my dealer didnt know how many links but said he had a chain if i needed it. I would think that that kind of info goes hand in hand.

 

I just changed the chain on my 400. If yours is new enough that it has concentric drive system (i think 98 or newer), it has 76. Older ones have 84.
