Remember, once you put a clutch kit on the 700, the thing will haul a$$ for a 700lb.+ quad.

It takes a lot of b**ls for a honda guy to call a Polaris Sportsman ugly. If they were so bad and so ugly tell me why every manufacture of ATV's modeled their flagship models after the Sportsman's.

Honda Guy 300EX,

Was the Sportman 700 even close in the race? Call me crazy, but the 700 weighs over twice what the 300EX weighs. Plus, the horsepower on the Sportsman isn't double what the horsepower on the 300EX is. Finally, you are compairing apples and oranges. The 700 is still just a sport utility model, and not a true sport machine like the 300EX. The Sportsman 700 is really tuned mild compaired to what it could be. Like OffRder 15 said, a clutch kit will do wonders for it.

More details on the race is needed. If it was in the woods, then the 300ex should beat it. But in an open drag race, the 700 should beat the 300ex. Isn't the top speed of a 300ex around 55mph, and the 700 65mph?

Also what was the lenth of the race? If it was a short race, the 700 with it's mild clutch will take a bit to get to speed.

Look at the weight difference in the machines and the clutch ATV will usualy win. Maybe just the 700 is slow for it to be twice the cc size

i have outrun a 300ex/a 350 warrior/200 blaster/250ex/500 rubicon easily on my 99 400 xplorer that is stock in a dragrace so i think the 700 would chew any honda atv up in a dragrace except the 400 ex..if you think polaris is down in power you are stoned..they are just overweight.now what could cause a honda to be so slow????they are really light so it has to the weak motor.holler if you hear me!!!!
