Does anyone think the 700's a little bit slow

In a 300 Ft sand drag, a Kawa650 will beat a 400EX. The 700 and 650 run almost even. Sometimes the 650 wins, sometimes the 700 wins. I doubt a 300EX will run with a 700 unless you are talking about tight winding trails.
Describe this race a little better so we may understand the conditions in whiich a 300EX beats a 700.

I just have to clarify; a Prairie 650 will always take a SP700 in a drag race. The SP700 will top out at the same speed as the Prairie 650, but the Prairie will always get the SP700 off the line, and then maintain the distance as both machines will have the same top speed. If the SP700 had the clutch kit in it, things might be different. I agree with others here, if the drag race is for any length, the SP700 will easily out run the 300ex. As my Prairie 650 will run 67 mph top end (I’ve checked ), and I have read that SP700 will do the same.

That is not correct. Yours may outrun every 700 you have seen, but I have seen 700s outrun 650s. I have even seen them jump 650s off the line. Add big tires, and the 700 gets the edge.
The Polaris/Kawasaki Dealer in Lufkin, TX says he has raced the two many many times over and over on hard pack. He say the 650 gets the jump almost every time, and then the 700 passes it. But he says the end result is they are both very close. Every bike is different. I have 660s take 650s, I have seen 650s take 700s, I have seen 700s take 660s. The funniest thing I have seen is a couple of trash talkers on 650s, 660s and one 700 at FWP get smoked by a good running 2002HO. That bike was awesome for some reason and it was stock.
My comment to you is that it is not right ot make blanket comments about any quad being faster than another one when all the big bores in question are so close. To say that a 650 will alwasy take a 700 is not a true statement. Just be glad you were not there to race that HO... the guys on the 650s just laughed... what else could they say? It was kinda funny.

First off....dragging a "sport" quad against a utility quad, c'mon, start using some grey matter. Pop a 40mm carb on that 700 and gain three lengths over stock. Sure wish more people would engage their brains before their mouths.
