Hey guys, what's going on? I bought my 700 in Jan '02 and love it. I have read some of your posts, and I'm glad I haven't had any problems yet (about 100 miles on it). I don't have alot of area to ride it, but have been using it to plow and hauling trees/logs.
I am looking for some performance upgrades and noticed that ScaryFast has a K&N Filter. I have been looking for a K&N filter for mine, but can't find a part # for it. Is there one for the 700 and is there an outer sleave for it? If so what are the part #'s? Is the performance gain (if any) worth the $$? Also, are there any other performance upgrades available and how well do they work?

More power is always better!

Thanks!

I'm glad to hear that you haven't had any problems yet . Keep your fingers crossed. Fuel leak, coolant leak and now it's back at the dealers because the plugs fouled out at 375 miles. The sp700 takes the same K&N filter as the 500 H.O. I don't know what you mean by an outer sleeve, but if you mean the pre-filter, it takes the same one as the 500H.O also. I had the K&N on mine for A WHILE AND TOOK IT BACK OFF. If anything, I thought it ran worse. I havn't really checked out any other performance upgrades so far. I'm spending all my time trying to get all the bugs fixed. I'd be interested in knowing if anyone out there has had their carb re-jetted and if it did any good? Good Luck!

scooter,
I'm running the K&N filter for the 500 H.O. on my 700.
I did not see any change in the performance, but I seem to get a little better gas mileage. I personally like the K&N because it's washable and in time will pay for itself. I keep the original filter in a zip-lock bag and take it with me on weekend rides for emergencies {or submergencies!}

I've been looking myself, I haven't bought anything yet, but Bert's Dirt Works(1-866-823-DIRT) sells a k&n filter and slip on exhaust that fits the sp700 for around $160. They told me that combo would add 7hp! As for jetting the carb, the tech I talked to advised me not to do it or you'll need an even bigger gas tank than you have room for! I also heard Aaen has pretty much the same parts available, sent for 2002 catalog but there is nothing in there for the sp700. If you want to make the toll call to CA you can, 1-262-552-9496. http://www.erlandsonperformance.com/...rt+utility+pol These folks have a clutch kit for it, I haven't heard any talk about it though. If you buy any upgrades post a thread and let me know what you think. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will probably get a K&N when the OEM filter gets dirty; I never hit deep water like you Scaryfast (Great pictures by the way). As for the other performance mod's, I'll wait a while; I want to get a winch first.

I will post a review if I do install anything.

Thanks again.
