This is something I just noticed. I've heard a lot of people complain that Polaris doesn't have fuel guages on there atv's. Some have said, "you pay $7000 for a atv and it doesn't even come with a gas guage". I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to have one, but it's not a big deal, I fill up before each ride. In the last week I bought two Honda's, a Forman ES 4x4 and a Rancher ES 4x4. When I got them home, I came to relize that they don't have brake lights. Obviously those at Honda have never riden behind someone with no brake lights, if they did, they would see how important they are to have. And it wasn't untill this year that Yamaha put brake lights on there atv's. However Polaris has had them for years. Heck my Scrambler 90 has a brake light. So the point I'm making is, I would much rather have a brake light for safty then a fuel guage (I would still like one). Brake light should be mandatory on all motor operated vehicles. Honda get with it.

Good point. I completely agree. I was riding behind my friend and his '99 Honda 300 4x4 at a pretty good speed down a powerline trail, and he decided to slam on his brakes and down shift at the same time to stop quick to make a turn onto a trail. I WAS P*SSED! I did a freakin endo on my Scram from a high speed and hit his quad(not hard, but I did hit it). That was scary! Sure you could blame it on me if you want to(wasn't my fault), but if that quad had brake lights and my friend had brains, then this all wouldn't have happened. This could've had a much worse outcome if I wasn't paying close attention ahead of me.

I agree. My buddy rides a honda 300 4x4 and I have to keep a distance because he doesn't have a brake light.

On smaller vehicles, a gas guage isn't really that important because they good milege but on the big bores, a fuel guage should be madatory.

Well guys, i have a rancher...i have a fuel guage and i don't have a brake light....i would surely trade one for the other....a brake light would be safer...a fuel guage is no big deal...and besieds, if i wanna know how much fuel i have i take the cap off anyway...the guage is horribly inaccurate....if i burn a quart of fuel the guage shows that i burned about a quarter of a tank....yeah, i'd trade the fuel guage for a brake light anyday.

A gas gauge would be nice, but not having one does add to the excitement of the ride, not knowing if you are going to make it back or not! lol
