ALMOST DONE !!!

Just thought I'd let you guys know that I am pretty much done with mine. It has taken me quite a while to get this far but that's what you get for trying to do something personal while you are at work.
All I have left to do is come up with some splash guards that will go from my fenders to my floor boards that will look good. I also have to decide how I want my clutching. I have tried a couple of different configurations and not sure which way I like it. I can say that it pulls like a freight trian. It actually threw me off yesterday when it unexpectedly came up in a wheelie while trying to do a donut. It ended up dragging me for about 15 feet by one arm.(I was determined to ride it out. OUCH!)
I hope to get it done in less than a week and have the pictures posted. My boss wants to race me with a Raptor. This will happen sometime next week. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.
I haven't been on here much because my computer at home crashed. I hope to have this fixed soon also. I am kind of surprised by some of the new people and topics. One being Polaris "sport" quads. I have to admit that mine wasn't a sport quad but it is now. It is pure sport. Nothing utility about it at all. I don't see it beating a Raptor but I may be surprised. I know it is way faster than any stock Polaris made. That's all I've had a chance to run so far.
I'll keep you all posted. Hopefully I'll have my computer at home fixed soon.

elroy,
Good to hear it's mostly complete. I too would like to see the race between your quad and the Raptor. If it loses, tell your boss I'll be up to avenge the Polaris honor. After all, my Sport is just a "little 400".
The starter on the kids Trailblazer started making funny noises again. My Ex wife's husband brought it over last Sunday and dropped it off. Celeste's brother Steve is looking at it. The preliminary verdict is that the bendix was not lubed (frankly, I don't know whether it should be lubed or not), but it is in the process of getting fixed again. I'm starting to believe it's more trouble than it's worth. Still it makes the kids happy. Either way, it'll give me a chance to get a chain tensioner on it incase the kids decide to get some "air".

I'm glad to hear you have it back together. Did you finally get it jetted right? How far off was the carb when you first got it?What clutch setup are you running? Did you replace the plastic with the stock express plastic or something different?
I haven't been out on mine for the last 5 weekends. I've only burnt about 2 litres of gas since my last rebuild so I still have to break my new Wiseco .040 piston in. I also did a lot more port cleanup and even ported the crankcase this time.I also did some head rechambering that seems to work quite a lot better than before. After a conversation with Rick Ritter , my oil injection is a thing of the past too.Now I have to get my Dial A jet set up right.
I put a front clip from a /95 sport, on my bike with the stock rear plastic still on it. It kinda looks like a mutant now but its kinda neat. Its defenitely different. But now my front half is yellow and the rear is blue. I am going to get some decals made to try to blend the two colors together where they join in the middle.
I hope to get out for a run this weekend and sling some mud off the Dirt Devils. The snow is all gone here now so its time to play.
