hpd pipe for 500 scrambler

Riderrideshard,
Another guy and myself were waiting for the HMG setup for our 500 4X4 Scramblers. I was going to see how his performed with the HPD before I decided to get one. It just was taking too long to come in so the dealer suggested a DG pipe. He said it would be a total of $285 plus about one half hour labor it you want it installed. He also said there is no jetting or clutch kit needed. Thus it is a savings of about $450-$500 if you include two hours of labor with the HPD total setup. The dealer discouraged the clutch kit with the DG pipe because it would rev too high and would be rough when trying to go slower through rough trails. The factory said you do not need to jet unless there is a problem. I know guys on this forum keep saying you always need to jet. The dealer said they have had a DG pipe on Scramlers for many months now, with no jetting done, and have had zero problems. They even are racing the Scramblers with this pipe on it. I think there is 12 discs with the DG pipe. I must say, after my first ride, it is not as loud as I thought it would be. It is not as loud as say a White Brothes pipe. It sounds normal when you are going very slow and is louder when you hit the gas but is not offensive to the eardrum. The low end power seems to be much better and most noticable when climbing hills. The throttle repsonse is also much quicker,as now there seems to be no hesitation compared to stock. If I were you I would seriously look into the DG pipe before deciding on which to get.
