it must be a term used out of the state of maine, i have never heard a atv, a.k.a. 4 wheeler, called a bike, untill i started posting at this site. hmmmmm

 

To me - its a 4 wheel bike. They use to be 2 wheel, then three wheel - now 4. With handle bars, hand brakes, and a seat that gets straddled - it aint no jeep. LOL IMO its more a bike then not.

 

That's what we call it too...Hey John, Bill got a new bike!!...yeah, strange when ya think about it...bike/bicycle...bi- meaning 2....hmmm...oh well, it's still a bike to me!

 

I call them bikes as well. But I do admit I find myself having to clarify myself to others sometimes that it is an atv not not motorcycle.

the 4 wheeler is a work bike..

I previously have had a 100 cc Rupp, a Rm 125 Suzuki, a 400 Penton/KTM, a 530 Husquvarna, ..needless to say I've had a few more birthdays..since then..

folks usually call them 4 wheelers down here..except me..just to be diffrent..

 

Thanx for the replys, but I still don't think I'll be going around town calling my four wheeler, a.k.a. atv, a bike. I can see quad, because quad means four, but bike? Oh well not a big deal.......

 

When talking to non riders I call it a 4 wheeler but when talking to riders I call it a quad. I call my Husqvarna a bike. Just my way.
