I have stated this before, so I do not mean to spread old news but, I recently got and AAEN catolog and they have a clutch kit that fixes the take of on the 700. The Ad States the following::::::::::
There is a problem with the Secondary clutch. The two belt sheaves are rubbing on each other at low ratio. It take power to overcome the friction, and result is ajerky and inconsistent shift. This can be fixed by placing 5 shims ( Included in clutch kit ) on the shft between the sheaves to space them away from each other (.10 to .20"
. This mod results in smooth takeoff and better acceleration.
E-mail them for a catalog ::AAENPERF@WI.NET
They have 3 different kits for the 700 twin.

As bubascrambler stated, AAEn has a clutch kit for the sp700. I had this kit installed on my 700 and it made quite a difference. AAEN states in their catalog that the cost of the clutch kit is 72.00. My dealer ordered mine and charged me 79.00. Probably due to the shipping charge. Dealer charged me one hour labor at $49.00 an hour. The kit improved the hole shot quite a bit. AAEN claims that their is a 300 rpm higher engagement, but it seems like a tad bit more to me. I'm satisfied.
