Do you think it is worth the hassle to eliminate the oil injection on the 400 scram.I have been giving it some thought and may do it.I am just leary of an air-lock or something else that would cause it to malfunction. What is the ratio to premix?Weight is not my main issue although it would be nice to drop 10lbs or so.Have these injection systems ever failed? Thanks for any help.

don't know about doing it with a quad, but many people in our area do it with their snowmobiles....without problems...would assume it would be the same for a quad.

Yes they do on occasion fail! I have a 99TB and my brother has
a 99 scrambler. Both have the oil injection removed. The pre-mix
is 40 to 1. I use Amsoil pre-mix at 60 to 1 and have not had any
problems. You can get the oil injection block off kit from either
HPD or Hotseat.

I have mixed emotions about the elimination of the oil injection.
+ I love the Idea that I would be eliminate a Posible failure.
- I hate the Idea that I have to premix my gas, and for me to have separate gas tanks/cans for our 2 and 4 stroke machines.
- You also eliminate the easy fill up at a gas station along the trailside on those long rides. FOR ME THESE ARE BIG NEGATIVES
Just thinks to think about and consider.

i would assume that everyone likes the idea of gas and go better than mixing gas....the only concern is the possibility (however remote) of failure....this worry is eliminated with premix.

Also agree w/ Bubba. I have a GREAT dealer here in Tulsa, and feel confident if the injection system fails they will go to bat for me w/Polaris.

I absolutely love to be able to put gas in the truck, sportsman, and trailblazer, all in one motion at the gas station. No gas cans or bottles of oil to fool with.
