Actually it's my wifes quad, but I'll have to maintain it. It's a 2001 Scrambler 400 4X2. Any tips or info on how to maintain this quad? It's my first 2-stroke also.

Run a good brand of oil and stay with it. Grease it often and keep the chain at the proper tension. After you give it a good bath after riding and before you put it to bed coat the whole thing with WD40. This helps keep rust down and also gives it a good shine. I also tossed the stock filter and went with a twin air from Dennis Kirk. I also change the counterbalancer fluid and transmission fluid every six months no matter if it neds it or not. With the wifw riding it she should be able to go a year though. The 400 motor is a good motor and should last many riding seasons.

Be very careful. That 400 is VERY fast. Have your wife be conservative with her riding style until she gets used to the power. Good machine with a bullet-proof motor.

I have experienced a ride on a banshee,blaster,Tecate4,Magnum325,go gart,bicycle,motorcycle,chinook,uH1 huey,747,757,c5 galaxie. They are all fun. So maybe you ought to experience the ride in a Huey.
Go think.

I remember my first ride in a Huey and it was a blast. I was stationed in Germany and we dropped from about 3000ft to about 500ft in what felt like 2 seconds. Man was I ever glad I skipped brekfast. You pilots love making the troops turn green.
