Matt

reeds gave my sport a more zippy machine, you can get your reeds set up for torque and for mid and for top end. I have had this sport for a while and it was hpd'd until bout 2 months ago I went to AAEN.

the 378cc of polaris is the third most powerful engine ever put in an atv(that is with mods) My sport goes about 80 even with stock gearing. I have a smaller back sprocket on the back that I put on now and I havnt clocked that one, but it is 4 teeth smaller soo

The plates hold up great.

have you ever heard of Dennis Kirk???????????

Hey polaris400sport,who is #1 and #2? Let me guess,Suzuki's 499cc 2 stroke is #1 and cannondale's 440 is #2.But where does that leave yamaha's 660 and 350 twin? Oh yeah,and what about kawi's 650?

Does flywheel lighting hurt lowend power?

congrats on your new toy, i think you will enjoy it. i have a 2000 and love it. everyone has pretty much answered your questions except for the front boots. i ended up replacing one because of a rip and then a week later the other one. as for difficulty they are not that hard just look at the order the bearings and stuff are in especially if you don't have a manual(good investment). they can be tricky if you lose the order. oh! if yours uses the polaris hub oil that's like 4 dollars for enough to do only 2 hubs, type F transmission fluid will do just as good. it is red instead of green but that doesn't matter and it's cheaper. ( my mechanic led me onto that one and it hasn't proved him wrong yet ). hope this helps.

Well, I finally took it out for a 4 hour ride yesterday. Man, can this thing climb hills! It is far better than my Wolverine. With the Wolverine, I barely had enough power to make it to the top (sometimes I even had to back down). With the Scrambler, I would end up carrying so much speed up hillclimbs, that I would end up airborne at the crest! Everyting about this machine is superior to the Wolverine. The only thing I'm not quite used to is not being able to downshift going down hills. Thanks for all the responses so far.

more power? the pipe/silencer+air filter and reeds/carb, plus a good clutching setup to match the pipe is the way to get more power from the 2 stroke scrambler,if you want more then get new billet head, yes you always have to rejet the engine after all is done.
