My father and uncle are planning a trip to Moab Utah in a few weeks and need to get a better idea for the type of range we can expect to get out of our machines. We will be riding two 97' Trail Bosses and a 94' TrailBlazer. The riding is fairly slow technical riding. Based on past experience I would think that we would get somewhere around 60-80 miles to the tank but I could be way off base. I don't have an odometer so I've never really gauged it. Anyone have any idea?

MKnight,

I have a 400, and I have gone about 65-70 miles without filling up. I ride with a friend who had a 98 trailblazer (now has a 400 scrambler), and he would have a lot more gas left in his tank than me. We would be running pretty fast too. I think your calculations are about right. You can get a gas cap with a gauge on it. They are pretty cheap. Good luck on your trip.

i agree, your calculations are accurate from my experience. i think you should each carrie an extra can of gas, just to be safe. i would recomend bringing a tow rope.
good luck
