NGK plugs....BP9ES or BPR9ES?
#1
Running a higher then stock compression (HSP billet head with 12 to 1 dome) I took someones advice and put in one heat range colder plug, 9 vs. 8. Then I read the new HPD catolog saying something about the BRP resitor plugs are better because they advance the timing some and fire easier. So now I am running a BPR9ES. Is this the best setup or I'm I missing something here?

Adam, like the HPD advice, with the higher compression, the cooler plug helps. With the 12:1 dome you could really run either the 8 or 9. Have you retarded your timing 2 degrees yet? This also creates more hp out of this motor. You'll need a timing light for a 2 stroke though.

biggin,
The Hot Seat billet head is a great bolt-on in my opinion. I feel I gained a few horses from low to high. It is similar to the stock head, in fact it uses the stock head gasket where the HPD head uses an o-ring to seal her up.
It raises the compression so you will need to run 92 or better octane fuel...no big deal really. Is it worth the $230 for a new one? Hard to say. Porting is the best buy for the money aside from a good pipe. Thats the next item on my wish list.

biggin,
Yeah..I hear you there. I am not sure how long it takes to get ones cylinder ported and returned. But since I live in Iowa I can use our long cold winters as "down time" and get more toys on the Scrammy. But I must admit, it is fun to kick her sideways in the snow from time to time!

Snow, what is that!?(j/k).If it wasn't for tour of duty in Germany Snow would belike the moon to me.Seriously,we got some snow in Jan of this year in SC and I went for a ride.Man,A fresh virgin blanket of snow really tells a story about whats in the woods and fields and where they go.The deer tracks were every where on the edge of the winter wheat fields. To bad the season was over or else I'd had another stand setup real quick. That was back when I had my Bayou, I kind of miss it. It was quiet and smooth to ride.Later.
