I'm back.... I'll take the Predator, with a capital P for Polaris!

I don't know what you guys are getting all excited about. If the Predator had a million horsepower, cornered like a high speed train, had suspension that would make a desert truck seem sacked out and had the reliability of a brick, it would still get LAST PLACE in a shoot out against the Japanese machines in the top two ATV rags (both Hi-Torque). It doesn't matter how good it is, according to those rags the Japanese will always make a better machine. If you don't believe me, look at the Cannondale vs. Suzuki vs. Honda 400-440 shoot out in this months issue. Case in point, the Cannondale came in second. It had faster lap times, it is more advanced, wider, more stable, but yet the Suzuki STILL won. Hey, go figure. I guess that the fact that Suzuki is advertising the heck out of both of their magazines wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with how shoot outs turn out. NAAAAAWWWWW!

If you read the article, it said that the professional riders posted faster times on the C'dale, and the non pros posted faster times on the Z400. I think they gave the nod to the Suzuki because they claimed it is more user friendly, and easier to ride to the average Joe, weekend rider.
It was a high performance shootout, so you'd think they would've gave it to the higher performance bike. From reading the article, most would agree that it was, in fact, the C'dale.

Quadfather,
Not trying to start some "stuff" here, but.....
Gee, just what we need, another beginner "High Preformance" quad. I'm getting sick of hearing about how easy the "new" quads are to ride when the truth of the matter is the machines are under powered. If you haven't read between the lines in these rags, this is what they mean by being "easy to ride".
The sad part is that you still have to dump a ton of money into the current crop of "High Performance quads" just to get horsepower out of them. For example, take a look at the Raptor. Here is a 660cc machine that doesn't make as much horsepower as a well tuned 440cc machine like the Cannondale. I know there are ways to get more power out of it, but why should we do it? the factories should be doing it.
Of course there is the liability issue. I still, to this day, see people putting beginners on high performance machines and then wondering why the quads wind up shiny side down with the rider hurt. DUH!

Mike,
I agree. I wonder with all the new fast quads being released when the lawsuits will start again.
I was at Silver Lake & saw a guy put his about 10 year son on a built 250R !!! He couldn't even ride it up to the gate without stalling & dumping the clutch to stall it & move ahead about 4ft each time. Lucky for everyone there the DNR officer wouldn't let him ride. He never got past the gate. Some people are just plain dense.

Is it true that Polaris has a new owner, CEO or someone big like that? I heard that they do and he likes high performance racing quads like the Raptor and DS and Z400. Also, I heard that Polaris is working on another race-quad besides the Predator. Top secret right now....but the Predator is a real-deal.
So, with that in mind, expect to see Polaris quads on the race track and not in last place.
