Is it possible to purchase the extended warranty after you have had the bike for several months? I have 400 miles on it and nothing is wrong with it but I feel that maybe it might be good to have if it is still possible to purchase. Any information is appreciated.

You have to get it before your first 6 month factory warranty runs out.

Just so you know, full coverage insurance is really good too. I've done alot of repair work to machines under their insurance coverage.

Go for it! Make sure your dealer is offering Polaristar. I paid under $400 for a three year zero deductable plan. So far (daily driver) in 300 hours and 2000 miles I have had rear bushings replaced and the "motor", oil failure. This work has cost me NOTHING! My machine is stock except for the HD rear springs, rider and equipment 400 + pounds and that is year round; Buffalo, NY SNOW!

2001 Yellow HO
Double tube bumpers
Winshield
"Big cargo box"
and a full tank of gas!

Hope this helps

elroy2, What do you mean by “full coverage insurance is really good too”. “I've done a lot of repair work to machines under their insurance coverage”. Is this insurance or extended warranty your talking about? Thanks

Thanks for the replies. I bought it back September and clearly it is past the six month mark . I will give it a try and see how much it costs.

Officially you only have up to five months to purchase the extended warranty. I went to purchase mine when the ATV was five months and one week old. The dealer had to back date it to make it under five months old. I seriously doubt your dealer would be able to go back that far in your case. Good luck.

elroy2
Whats with the "elroy2"?
What happened to elroy?
Unless there was another elroy with a 300 express?
And have you found any insurance companies that is less hassle to deal.
Example=
My homeowner and auto Policy is USAA,
and its a great company with no hassles

Extended warrenty on ANY make/model 4x4 ATV is a good investment, especially Polaris.

Be sure your dealership mechanic is the type of guy who will back up his customers or the extended warrenty is WORTHLESS!

Full coverage insurance covers anything that you might happen to do. For example: run into a deer, hit a pipe on the trail and bust your case, run into a gate, stick comes thru belt case and destroys clutch. These are all things I've done work for. None of which would be covered under an extended warranty. Here in our state of PA we have to have insurance on our quads. Like cars, you can get liability or full coverage. One of my own mechanics have used it twice. He pays, I think, $150 a year and has gotten about $2000 worth of repairs done.

Extended warranty's cover about anything on the machine that breaks itself. Full coverage insurance covers anything that you break.

The reason their is an "elroy" and an "elroy2" is because I got a new computer at home about a month ago. For some reason I could not login at home as "elroy". I tried to get ahold of someone here at the forum to help me out but to no success. So, in order to get on here from home, I had to start a new person, "elroy2". From here at work I can still login as "elroy". Yes, I am one in the same. "Elroy2" is kind of a play on words meaning that I am elroy too.
