I have a sport that has the same set up as the one below but it has a HPD trail pipe instead, now I raced a piped LT 250 And I won for 30 to 40 feet, then he was ahead about a length in mid range and then I slowly got him in top end, Now I should beat on him so does anyone know what I could do.???please respond.

Have you changed the gearing? That really makes a difference. Lots of people are running the 30 tooth rear. My 99 had a 36 rear stock, just changing to the 34 made quite the difference. The 30 is on it's way for the drags.

Why do you think you should beat on him, take into consideration the weight difference, if the LT250R is slightly built then any advantage you have is gone because you weigh so much more.

clean yours clutch and make sure the belt deflection is ok,maybe a little side pressure on the secondary will help to get a better top end...with those mods i suggest you the 13-30 gearing, wich will give you a great snap at top end will increase from maybe 5 to 10 mph,i got this result on mine,
i run this gearing for 2 months already and i can say it help a lot the 380 2 stroke to get more strong top/end acceleration, good lucks.
