New Predator maybe/maybe not
#1
got the chance to go down to the dealer yesterday and ask about thr Predator. This is what I was told. 1. Not sure what will be comming out, he said that Polaris tested up to 7 diferent machines with various designs, plastic ect. One had the 425 another had the 500 one even had a 700, the others were variations one having a auto and one having a 6 speed. Anyway he said until the dealer meeting nothing had been confirmed. 2. There were 9 new models comming out I assume he means new design on existing models. 3. I asked if the Scrambler was one of the ones being re-worked, he said he was not even sure the Scrambler would come back at all. 4. As we all know the 2 stroke is history he said there will be no more maybe this year but for sure by 06. Anyone else hear this same kind of stuff

I do know for a fact that there will be some changes on some of the machines or possibly new machines. For example, I have some insider info that things as minor as the racks will be changing. I do know that there will be different tubing and possibly a different design on some models. It would be nice to see some major changes other than "BOLD NEW GRAPHICS" like other manufactures brag about. With Arctic Cat's new rack system, it's very possible that Polaris could be making some changes to compete.
In typing this post, I remember back to the late 80's when I worked as a Die Cast Operator building Polaris clutches, there was an article posted that Arctic Cat wanted to form an alliance with Polaris, like the Suzuki and Kawasaki joint venture, but Polaris turned them down. Is this a possiblity now? Maybe, but considering that AC uses Zuki motors, that could possibly put Suzuki in an extremely broad expanse in the ATV industry. Or, maybe AC would use the Polaris motors.
Of course this is all speculation. Being competitive as the industry is getting now, there are more things to come IMHO.
