Saw the Predator Sunday
#1
A few of us went to an ATV MX race north of Bath, N.Y. Sunday and saw 2 of the new Predators at the track. They brought them in and set them out with people there to answere any questions that people may have. Of course quite a few people asked who the manufacturer was and they politely said that would be made know upon the machine's official release to the general public for sale. Their display was nice and the 2 guys that answered the questions also took the machines out on the track during warm up before the races started. During warm up on the track the machined appeared to have very tractable power and hooked up very well. The machine's suspension seemed to be working very well in soaking up the bumps and landing off the jumps as good as the modified quads they were warming up with. The drivers went out one at a time and when the second driver went out he crashed pretty hard near us. One of the a-arm's was dangling after the machine had settled on its back and upon further investigating the reps for the Predator said the ball joint did not appear to be properly pressed in. They did not have any spare a-arms and called the factory and did not run the machines any longer until the problem could be looked into. This problem did not affect my overall view of the quad though. I realize that during the developement of a machine there is flaws that will come up. My overall opinion of the machine was good. It is good to see a new sport quad coming out.
