I have a 2001 and a 2002 Polaris Magnum 500's. they are both liquid cooled 4 valve four strokes. Is it normal to be able to hear the valves tapping over the engine running. Its not that loud but it is noticable. Now both of these machines do this the 02 has about 90 miles and the 01 about 550 miles. So is this tapping normal????

Hello again, I have had 2 four stroke Polaris's, and they both had a noticeable valve noise especially at the lower rpm's. I only own 2-cycles now, so that's all I can tell you from my experience. Bubba

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!
