I need to know if the '00 Scrambler 500 has low range in its transmission. Can any owners tell me. The polaris website says it does but I have heard it doesn't. Thanks.

According to their web site they do for 2000. I got a couple of buddies with '99's(I think) and they don't have it. I've seen mistakes on their site before,so take this for what it's worth.

I have a 99 and it does not have low range. I bought mine in Nov. when the 00's where out, And when I compared the differences there was no mention of low range on the 2000 model. The changes where mostly minor, except longer travel on the rear. I saved $500 by getting the 99.

Well, I was gonna send Polairs an e-mail and ask them about it.... But their web-site is down for maintenance..
I can tell ya that the 2000 models do NOT have a dual range transmission... A friend of mine has a 2000 and its got the same transmission as the 99 models...

I read it has a low Range in a Dirtwheels Jan 99 Buyer's guide. I really have to stop reading and believing these things.

I have heard that the Scramblers have the same trans as the sportsman minus the low range linkage and a couple of other things. I don't know of the truth to that but that would be a cool option to have on my bike if it could be converted.
