just some impressions to you all when modded your 2 stroke scrambler, when using filtercharger (NO AIRBOX),keep an eye on this, the carb is twisting/shaking so bad that it can cause you some jetting problem and by the end a lean mixture resulting to a engine failure, find out with the time using different carbs, air leak/bad faoming of the carb are pretty possible when those motors are boosted up,tight your boot carb and filter properly...

but tonight, problem is solved,i got a nice blast ride with using a KICK *** air filter, more air flow than the k&n for sure (more torque, more top end power),those filter are made for snowmobile applications and uses,it is shorter and the "vibrations" problem seem end, looking to get an outerwear pre-filter to fit on it soon.

Do you think with the airbox gone on a 400sport 2x4 that the carb. can vibrate enough to cause a rich load and cut out sometimes, no mods yet.

Highjumper, if you have a problem with it, it will probably be what I ran across. The fuel might foam in the carb and cause some mid-rpm hangups. I havent had any rich problems, though. I run the 4" open element right on the back of the carb. Bubba

try KICK *** AIR FILTER,when time come to get a new filter instead of k&n,you shouldn't disapointed about the power boost...
with the stock carb with no mods,i see no problem running no airbox,it is when bigger carb is using the engine/boot/carb vibrate a lot more.
