okay now that the '03 info is on the website, I'd like to hear all the opinions on the new sp600 twin. goods , bads, etc. I'm not really crazy about std. chrome rims and front/rear rack extenders. The belt updates and low to reverse shifting feature would be welcome. Can't see to find out if the 600 got the same new front locking hubs location as the sp700(not outward at each wheel like the sp500). Also wish they would have offered a camo pattern on this machine. I guess the marketing guys have it all figured out ahead of time what works and what doesn't without each model (especially a new one ) hurting each other's chances to maintain sales.

I don't see why people are not liking the Sportsman 600. I mean, Honda has in their utility line up a 350, 400, 450, 500, and soon a 650. What's wrong with Polaris offering a 400, 500, 600, and a 700?

 

i think it's great, cause it will force them to make the sp700 more powerful. the blue is nice, but nothing like the blue grizz. i think the chrome rims set it off, and those tires are awesome. dads friend has a sp700 and he really likes the tires, last long too. if the sportsman's keep working out the bugs, heck i MIGHT even buy one!

i agree with OFFRIDER15. selection IS important. having the right product mix is vital to the success of Polaris.
i'm the guy that has owned his share of SP500s and wanted something a little different in a utility ATV. if Polaris didn't have the 700 to stir my curiosity, i would have bought the Grizz, Prairie, or 500i. if the new SP600 was available then, i would have bought the 600.

i think Polaris has a nice line-up of ATVs for '03. and i can't wait to punch the throttle on that new Predator! it seems like one awesome machine!

700-600 Same weight when the 500 HO would almost keep up. Think for the $ I would go with the 500.
7499, 6999, 5599. Yeah I think the 500 would be the better deal. But if a twin is a must all else being the same think would go for the $500 less 600. Wonder how the got the 600? Sleave the 700?

 

I rode the 600 &amp; 700 twins in Orlando. I must say I was skeptical, I was figuring they were both too heavy. The track they let us ride the Predator on had no jumps, but the track for the rest of the fleet had two jumps which most people just rolled over, I don't know if they were even intented as jumps, but both these twins reached for the sky again and again, I even got one pretty good wheelie out of the 700 coming out of some baby whoops. Getting the front end up on both was easy, power to the ground is very very good. They both jump better than a 500 H.O. just better power. The 700 was just a smidge faster than the 600, with a little more torque, but not much. Both had H.O. type suspension, not mushy like a regular SP.
.....I loved the combination of blue with the chrome rims, looked really sharp. I went in skeptical, I came away liking both twins a lot. I also really liked the Trailblazer 400, which I think is much more honestly marketed as a fun trail bike than as a sport quad, which the scrambler never was. For the sake of marketing, seams like they should have shaved a few pounds off of the 600. They could have used lighter tires and rims, geared it a little different and so on, just to add its own personality. Looks like its just a sleeved down 700, and a few bucks less. If its going to sell well, and make the 700 look like the big bad dog, it should have less in common. Should be a nice quad though.

 

i think the 600 is a great idea!!! polaris is making a line up for every size under the sun now. no holes, no gaps in the displacement department. after reading the front page, it seemed to me the 600 feels a little sportier than the 700. the riders talked about it just feeling lighter, and more nimble. if so, then theres the differance. the 700 is a pure tourke monster, with the work load covered. the 600 is more of a trail bike, more nimble, and easier to rip around trails on.
now the preditor, heehee. bout time an american company showed japan they can play too, lol!!!
i think polaris is on the right trac with the new linup they have!!! when i look for another quad, the 600 will be looking real good to me!!!

i was just joking earlier about it not having enough power. it has more than enough. i would take it over the sp700 because its better for trail riding and handeling. IT HAS THE SAME TOWING CAPACITY AS THE 700. how is that. well it does. looks like a great machine. i would get it!
