I have a Scrambler 400 and i was wondering if anyone knew which brand has the best nerf bars for it. I've been looking for a long time and can't find any other brands besides Hotseat and DG. I just want to purchase the best when the time comes. Thanks for the help.

As far as fit and finish, you can't beat the Hot Seat units. They were built for the Sport/Scrambler/Trailblazer.

I like the AC ProPegs for the Leager 250r chassis, they are larger than the commonly used banshee nerfs and I think they fit the larger frame of the sport scrambler better.

That's true Ron, but when you look at ease of installation, and the product is disigned for the frame, the Hot Seat bars just plain fit.

Hotseat wants $250 for a set of nerf bars which is just friggin' ridiculous. If you have a little mechanical ability, nerfs from a Banshee will work fine.

Kevin, I too run the DG units. They are welded in the back, and I even fabbed a titanium doubler for up front, they work fine. When you consider the time and materials....and not everyone welds. The Hot Seat units are manufactured for the frame, and not adaptations. Scramblerized stated, "he wanted the best he could buy". I'm just throwing options out there along with my opinion. Basically:

Hot Seat nerfs (chromoly): Remove floorboards cut 2 of the 4 floor braces off, and bolt on.

DG or AC nerfs (aluminum): Remove floorboards, cut 2 or 4 floor braces off, relocate (depending on preference)2 of the braces, and weld on. Cut, fit, and modify front "tube" to fit. Personal preference, fab a doubler to strengthen and tie the nerf mount to frame.

Just boils down to the ol equation of time = money.

Just throwing out the options.

I know where you're coming from Ken, not everyone can make other nerfs work. It just irritates me that Hotseat is trying to rip Polaris owners off by charging so much when you can get DG's or AC's for $100-150 less.

I think everybody knows somebody who can weld, I spent about 25 in materials for the rear pegs and front crossbar and welded the stuff my self. If I couldnt have welded it I would have given somebody some money to weld, still come out cheaper than hotseat and looked allot better than the hotseat nerfs.

True we all know someone who can weld but they know nothing about ATV's. Our problem (me and Scramblerized)neighbors) is we dont have anyone that can do the welds that isnt busy just about all the time. We were looking at the DG bars. They have them for the 400L and the Scramy now. We might go for those, one reason is that 250 is a lot to spend on 3 tubes of metal and some web netting when your 15 and in school most of the time. I think Hot Seat has the right idea about where they are going with it but I could clutch my machine and drop a K&N power kit into it for that much. Just me but go fast is more appealing than nerfs ne ways.
