I just picked up my new 500 last night and noticed
that there was no holes for the air intake up on the gas tank. There was a yellow one at the dealership that did and the dealer wasnt sure why mine did not.I have a green one.Any ideas??

It sound like the front cab did not get punched on the machine that make the air intake holes. Have the dealer replace the front cab, there should be no QUESTION what so ever from the dealer. It could be drilled out but i would not not, you payed good money for it so you you should be satisfied with your purchase. To me that is not having someone take a drill to a new wheeler LOL jaime j

That circle of air intake holes up next to the tank is in line with the intake for the clutch housing. The carb intake is behind that and has no direct in-line vent. It’ll be interesting to see what you find out. Could be Polaris just decided there’s enough air back there to vent the clutch housing without the holes. This might actually help keep water and debris out of the housing, not that I’ve ever had a problem with that. Let us know what they tell you.

I got my answer back from the dealer today. This is normal as of Mar.1 they no longer put the holes in.The air daming under the cowling has been changed and there is lots of air for the PVT.
