i cant diside if i want the rubicon or a sportsman 500ho. i know the polaris has the independent suspention that i like but i dont think i want that heavy of a machine and dont know it the belt gets wet easy.

i think you should look for the new sportsman 600,this one will eventually outperform the 500 h.o in long term,it seem the main focus in the utility atv market with that new one...

Our family has owned five and they have all been great machines. The advantages are independant suspension, better/smoother ride, more ground clearance, True four wheel drive (locking front end - huge mudding advantage, faster/quicker, better stock tires (Goodyear Rawhides), less expensive.

Both are great machines but I have ridden both and prefer the Sportsman because it is a much more capable 4X4. Ride both before you make your final decision.
