I'm trying to find out if anyone has any info on upgrading the 55watt high beam on a 2002 SP 700 from the 55 watt to a 100+ watt bulb.

I've already fix it so the three lights come on at the same time for the high beam. The recommended #1213/H4 does not fit the wiring harness on my SP 700.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Valleyrat

Rat, you’re asking for trouble putting a bulb with that much wattage in the pod light. It generates far more heat than stock and weakens the lens assembly. Ask me how I know.

Tell me all about it Floodrunner, please. I did this same setup on my Explorer 400 and it worked fine until I sold it a month ago.

If you put a higher watt bulb in there it generaters more heat, possibly causing damage to plastic and the light asemmbly. I seen this happen on a couple different quads and a car.

If you absolutely gotta have it, I believe it is a 9004 series bulb. Rocky Mountain ATV or Dennis Kirk's has'em.

i don't know about bulb replacement... but i have info on electrical changes that will allow all three lights to be on in high beam. i haven't done this yet... it requires a few parts(radio shack) and a little electrical skill... if you are interested?

You can make the light modifaction yourself for about 5 dollars tops. All you need is a couple of diodes and some connectors. It works great too.
