Check your gas tank vent line it could be pinched or stopped up.You could see if when it does this if you take the gas cap off it straightens up.If it does your vent is plugged.

i did do the test of taking off the gas cap and running it. It ran great all power but now where do i find this vent line to check to see if it is pinched or pluged up. Can this be done by a rookie or will i have to take it to the dealer to have it fixed. thanks for your help

Check your choke, make sure it is closeing all the way! Also check to see if you have a restriction aroung the air box inlet! A lot of guys put them cloth camo covers on, an were cover goes between the tank and seat cuts off the air flow at top end, and bogs it down!
The vent tube (if its in the same place as a 97 400)is a clear tube that runs off the right side (mayby left) of the carb and it runs up alongside the air box snorkle next to the gas tank! Also check to see if your gas line isn't pinched, and or your fuel on off switch is completly full on!

It goes from your tank up to the middle of the handle bars.follow it from the tank and i would bet it got against the exhaust and burned shut.Or is pinched by some of the plastic.

It sounded like he already unscrewed the gas cap and that didn't help. Thats why I suggested the carb vent line.

I took off all the plastic that surounds the gas tank and can not find a pinched or burned hose. I followed the hose from my gas tank but there are
many hose and wires that come from the bottom of the gas tank i checked them
they are fine there is a hose that comes off the top of the gas tank but that is fine ive even checked all the hose and lines that go anywhere and they are conected to other parts of the motor im beside my self with this one.

Unhook the one on the top and see if you can blow through it.If you can make sure your vent for your clutch cover isnt covered up.I did this once with a set of throw over bags.It will act the same way too.
