My boss just bought a new Sp500. The Polaris adds right now say if you buy one of the selected models your suppose to get a free Warn winch, the dealer would not give it to him because he didn't pay cash. Has anyone ever run in to this before?

The key words are. AT PARTICIPATING DEALERS

Chances are in most cases that the dealer will either give you the discount or the winch.

If you are a shrewd negotiator and beat them down to their last nickel they won't give you the winch.

INMHO the factory should send the winch to the buyer after the warranty card is mailed in.

In the Detroit area the SP500's are going for around $6,300.00 O.T.D. with the winch included. If you dont take the winch they will take another $75.00 to $100.00 off the price of the ATV.

Are the dealers in your area charging more for yellow SP500's? The dealers around here are charging $7300.00 for them!

Does anyone know the dealer cost for a Sportsman 500? I love to haggle.

Supposedly the wholesale on a sp500 is around $5500 to $5700. I've seen them advertised for around $5895 in a Denver colorado newspaper. So some dealers may be paying even less.

My dealer told me that in order for Polaris to pay for that free winch, the dealer had to put up money for local ads etc. which they felt was too high for the sales generated. So technically they are not a participating dealer. However, for anyone that brings in one of those ads, they give them the winch. It is cheaper for them to do that, then pay the advertising for Polaris and have Polaris pay for the winch.

I Bought a 00 expedtion on feb 2nd. The same day I also shelled out 400 bucks for a warn winch. Two days later I saw the ad for the free winch. So goto the dealer and he says he knew nothing of the deal. I e-mail polaris and they told me tough luck. I didnt fall between the promotion dates. BEAT THAT!
