Hey, I want to thank you guys and this forum for it's inspirational and educational effects. I have learned a lot on here. Enough, it seems, to be the New Polaris Dealer ! for Silver City, New Mexico. I got my Dealer number yesterday morning after nearly 5 months since my initial contact about becoming a dealer. Things were looking good, but this makes it official. This is a very big deal for me. It means a lot. I have put my heart, soul and dough into this and it hasn't even started yet. I am stoked.
....I have a fabulous location, over 2 acres in the corner of the biggest shopping center in town. "ATV Mountain Cycle" will be over 8,000 square feet, with a 1/8 mile test track. (curvy, slow, real first time out kind of track). Customer service is going to be my number one priority, and that includes getting people to ride safe and ride responsibly, because keeping trails open and keeping customers safe and happy is what it is all about.
.....So thanks guys, I have a lot to be thankful for. These opportunities don't come along very often, I really believe I am in the right place at the right time. I should be open around Dec 3rd, Hopefully with two more franchises I am working on. Maybe more later. It's a big damn deal, and the people in this biz that I have met are at least part of what makes it a great biz to be in. The Suzuki show is next week, I'm hoping for a tap on the shoulder....

Congrats on the new biz. Keep customer service and knowledgable technicians your top priority. To sell is one thing, to be able to diagnose and fix problems in a quick customer-friendly way is what keeps them coming back. Also, don't bash the brands you don't sell. It's unprofessional. Point out differences or disadvantages but don't outright bash them. The Honda dealer in my town openly bashed the other brands especially Polaris in a very arrogant way. People like that annoy people like me. I now drive a Polaris and realize they don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground. Good Luck and congrats again.

I couldn't agree more about not bashing the other brands. Besides the obvious annoyance and bad sales technique, I may eventually end up selling that brand too! I am fortunate to have two very good friends that excell at top level sales. Cheap tactics don't pay off in the long run.
... Now if there are any great mechanics out there that want in on the ground floor of a great new dealership in a great place to live in the mountains of Southwest New Mexico, Great! PM me.

Congradulations.

If I wasn't over a thousand miles away with four kids and a wife, I might just ask you for your first application.

Congratulations! Sounds very exciting! I wish you the best!

You should start building and selling custom one-off quads like your Raptorette as well!
