700 plow question
#1
I want to get a plow for my sportsman, it will be for both snow and dirt, it has to be able to grade trails too. how are the polaris plows compared to other manufacturers? what about a rear blade? will a rear blade work in snow? thanks any help will be appreciated. btw, the 700 twin is sweet and rips like no other.

I think the front plow is only good for loose dirt and snow. The rear blade might be good to grade trails, but I think a 3 pt hitch is needed. That's an expensive option from Polaris.
I made a 54" homemade plow for my 500 HO and it moved the snow great. Haven't tried it on dirt, but am gonna move some gravel with it in the spring.

I just got my 2003 SP700 2 1/2 weeks ago and I got a 60" Moose standard plow for mine. I can't wait for the snow to fall so that I can try it out. I have the Warn 2500 winch and I also added the rubber snow flap and the corner markers to the plow. It looks real nice and is real heavy duty.

patjaysam,
good choice going with the Moose 60'.
i had that same plow on my old sp500 and did about 70 miles of plowing with it in one winter and it was strong. reliable, and FUN!
i'm thinking about the 'highway plow' for my 700. i've been told it will do quite well windrowing, throwing the snow even higher.
one bit of advice: dress warm! damn cold out there! LOL
