Should I put a plow on Scram5004x4??? No Low Range!

low range would be cool on a scrambler!
I haven't plowed with either of mine, but I have driven them a lot in the snow. I'm sure I could push a couple inches a relatively short distance, but the weight of the snow piling up would eventually stop the machine dead. I doubt you would slip the belt, unless you were getting traction, which you wouldnt be. Maybe an angle plow would work okay because it's getting shoved aside before it gets heavy. Again, it all depends on how much snow you get, and how wet it is. I don't doubt that some guys have done it, but its most likely light fluffy powder on a flat paved surface, or beating the bejesus out of their machine. If you use your brain you could probably get by ok, try it and let us know!
Did you know that you can do donuts faster in AWD on ice or snow?

if you were supposed to plow with it, everyone would make a plow for it. Thats why they call utility 4x4s "utility" I would love to try plowing with my 700, I bet it would do awesome. But, I already have a snowplow on my pickup.
you know, the more I consider it, the more I think I could push snow with the Scram...Ive pulled some heavy loads with it with no problem, and pushing snow wouldn't be much different, except for traction. Too many variables regarding traction. What kind of driveway is it, anyway?
Noow I wish it would snow so I could go do some donuts.

They offer a plow for Scramblers
They even have a listing for a trailblazer (HAHAHAH).My Trailbazer can't get throught the snow much less push it.
There are a lot of things to consider.I thought about going this route but after figuring the cost of everything (About $600) I just went and got a good snow blower. If you properly Re clutch it, so you don't eat belts, add another $190.(Up to $800) Everyone agrees that this is not the best machine for the job but, It will probably do the job jsut fine with a little common sence.
I have talked to a few people in Northern Michigan that have did a plow on a Scrambler 4x4 and never had a problem.
I would suggest a Utility clutch kit, Maybe one of ERLANDSONS BIG FOOT CLUTCH KITS,
They list one in Dennis Kirk for the Scrambler. You will loose some topend with this kit but, that won't matter for pushing snow. It should save on belt and clutch wear. The lack of low range is what hurts, Just don't try to over due it, You should be able to tell if things are working to hard. COMMON SENCE is key.

I think my 400 4x4 works great for plowing.Ive never plowed more than a 6 to 8 in. snowfall but it handled that much with no problem. With the 48"plow it works well for the driveway and sidewalks.
I put the stock main clutch spring and stock muffler in for plowing (dont want to wake the neighbors)and I have disconnected the override and put the 4x4 power wire to a constant hot so that I have 4x4 at all times, foward or reverse
The only thing I can say is that if it doesnt move HIT IT HARDER
I do live in town and only do 5 driveways
It sure beats shoveling

I also have a plow for my 95 Scrambler 400. I have never had a problem with it pushing up to 10 inches, haven't gotten much over that. I bought my plow and mount through a Honda dealer. Just BSing one day, and he told me he had one in stock, manual lift, blade and mount for under $450. I bought an orange flashing light, mounted it to a pole and wired it into my tail light. With the headlights on and the light flashing, the cops don't even stop, unless it's to watch and laugh at the sh__tys that I do in the street. I live in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The only thing that I have had to replace were the rear tires (toooooo much playing in the street with a heavy piece of metal on the front and in 2 wheel drive) driver error!?!
