What are the best basic mods to wake up the Scrambler 500, and the best brand of each mod. Also, is there a place that you can get used after market mods, including wheels and tires??

Any help would be great!!

Thanks,
Colin

I have got a couple things that worked well for my '01 scrambler

K&N air filter
FMF exhaust pipe and muffler
Automatic chain tensioner from HPD performance
Hot Seat Performance Clutch Kit
BearClaw Tires
I also took out my reverse override switch as it was a pain in the ***.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

A good pipe, clutch setup,a high flow air filter(I like UNI filters they seem to filter better)

Go with a pipe, silencer and clutch kit and that thing will rock!!If you do get some mods stay with ONE brand.Clutch kits must match to get the right powerband of the pipe.

My list as of now has improved power so much I didnt believe it. But I am still going to put on the Power Maxx pipe. A 700 belt is next too. It should hook up better. The most important thing with the mods is jetting. The better the jetting the better the everything.

Whatever you do, go with a pipe and a matching clutch kit from the same company. I would definately go with the HPd Power Maxx exhaust system, and the HPd agressive clutch kit to go with the pipe. Like already stated, you won't get much gain if you don't clutch properly to match the RPMs.

P.S. The HPd PowerMaxx exhaust will get you 4.5 more horsepower. HPd's website is wrong. They have the horsepower gains for the Trail Blazer pipe listed under the Scrambler 500 pipe.
